Nitro co-founder and CEO Sam Chandler is an avid skier, cyclist, and motorcyclist. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to start his first company at the age of 16.
Of the more than 400,000 businesses worldwide that run Nitro, one-third of them are in Europe. That’s why I’m thrilled today to announce the opening of our European headquarters in Dublin, Ireland.
The new Nitro office in central Dublin will serve our European customers, as well as users in the Middle East and Africa. Hiring for our sales, customer service and success, operations, and technical support teams has already begun. If you want to join the team, and you think you have what it takes to be a Nitronaut, apply here. We expect to hire 50 or more Nitronauts in Dublin over the next couple of years, across all areas of the business, creating our second-largest location after our San Francisco global HQ.
Why Dublin? In short: Guinness. I kid, I kid… but truthfully, it really does taste better in Ireland. Actually, we’re here because of the talent. In the last decade, Dublin has become Europe’s key technology hub. With a highly-skilled workforce, a welcoming business climate, and a work culture than aligns tightly with our Australian and Silicon Valley roots, there’s nowhere else we’d rather be. Salesforce, LinkedIn, Google, and Facebook, just to name a few, all have a significant presence in Dublin, and it creates a talent-rich environment perfect for high-growth startups. As I write this from the Web Summit, where apparently there are 10,000 attendees, it is amazing to see the tech energy and activity in this relatively small city. Silicon Valley is booming right now, and Dublin is too.
What does our new European HQ mean for our users and customers? Even better customer service — and in more languages. Dedicated regional teams for customers and partners. Everything you’ve come to expect from Nitro, but more local. And with more shamrocks.
From Australia to Silicon Valley… and now to the emerging home of tech in Europe… it’s been an amazing journey. And like I said, we’re hiring in Dublin, so if you want to join this journey with us, we’d love to talk to you.
