Ten team members at Bongiorno joined its chief operating officer Margaret Mote, at the Nitro Masterclass onsite.
Following ATSA this year, we held a masterclass for the winner of the accounting event’s business card draw: Margaret Mote, chief operating officer at Bongiorno, an Australian wealth management firm specialising in doctors and dentists.
Since 1964, the Bongiorno Group has been helping medical and dental professionals grow, manage and protect their wealth, and the firm takes pride that its “knowledge and skills in this area are unsurpassed in Australia.” However, when it comes to document productivity, the firm found that there was room for improvement, and our Nitronauts were more than happy to show them a thing or two.
Here’s a few things they learnt at the masterclass:
E-signatures can help deliver excellent client service
Providing great service is one of the many things that Bongiorno strives for, and implementing a seamless process when obtaining signatures for urgent or complex documents can complete the experience, especially for clients that are time-poor. With Nitro’s e-signature feature, documents can be prepared and signed by the intended party or parties (on their mobile devices if need be) in a few minutes:

Technology can help make Bongiorno a fantastic place to work
Creating a workplace that people look forward to going to is important to Bongiorno, and while the camaraderie among the Nitro masterclass attendees was great, there’s unnecessary complexity in employees’ document-related workflows that can build up frustration over time. Solutions such as Nitro can reduce bottlenecks in processes, and with a simple Microsoft Office™-style ribbon UI and integrated toolbar (among many other great competitive features), performing common tasks such as converting PDF files into Word, Excel, PowerPoint and more is easier than making that cup of instant coffee in the office kitchen:

The right tools can free up the team to focus on building relationships.
One final thing that stood at during the masterclass was the focus that the Bongiorno team had on building strong relationships – particularly with their clients. By weighing team members down with paperwork, precious time that can be invested into nurturing business relationships is wasted. Having the right technology to streamline everyday processes can greatly reduce the time needed to perform tasks that’s traditionally time-consuming such as making a scanned document searchable (which can be done with Nitro’s optical character recognition or OCR), or simply something basic as editing text in a PDF:
Editing text on a PDF is easier than you think.
Attended by ten of its team members, Margaret found the masterclass educational and enjoyable: “Thank you for providing so many invaluable insights to PDF document creation and management. The software is very intuitive and easy to use, and we are now armed with the knowledge and skills to streamline our PDF document management processes. It was great fun, especially the buzzer quiz at the end as the prizes were hotly contested.”
Following this, representatives from the SMSF, tax review, tax administration, and FP compliance teams have volunteered to participate in a Nitro trial.
